I realize that as a society we have arrived at a place where we can wander the aisles of the store while talking on a cell phone. I am guilty of this. I also realize that "the line" in polite society is just a little further than you are willing to go, making it a relative concept. Lastly, I realize that time is not kind to any of us and the older you get, the harder it is to hear out of that tiny little ear piece.
Having said all that, I think you will all agree with me that we are not yet in a place where we are ok with people USING A SPEAKERPHONE IN PUBLIC. Yes, you heard me. Someone was wandering the aisles having a conversation on a speaker phone - a grandma browsing the Wii and Xbox games, by the way.
In case you were wondering, the conversation was of the "....nothing, what are you doing...." variety, rather than "...I am putting pressure on the wound, she seems to have lost consciousness" , where you would have expected a person to need both hands, so it probably could have waited until later.
The good news is, a little cell phone faux pas is nothing compared to what these people have to offer. By the way, this is an excellent/sad example of the power of word of mouth because that site launched on Friday and by last night was crashing as a result of overwhelming traffic
